Fine jewelry is made to be worn, but a little care will help preserve its finish, form and shine over time.
Handle with Care
Remove your jewelry before activities that may cause unnecessary wear or damage, such as sports, swimming, bathing, gardening or housework.
We also recommend removing your jewelry before going to bed and before entering a sauna or steam room.
Give Each Piece Its Own Space
Store your jewelry separately to prevent pieces from scratching or rubbing against each other. Keep each piece in its original Ichika box or in a jewelry box when not being worn.
Clean Your Jewelry
Silver naturally oxidizes over time and may develop a darker surface. This is a natural characteristic of the metal and can easily be refreshed. Chemical products, skincare or sweat can speed up the natural oxidation process.
First, remove lotion, dirt and natural oils that may be on your jewelry using lukewarm water and dishwashing liquid, or an ultrasonic cleaner. Important note: If the jewelry contains pearls, make sure not to dip it in liquid, expose it to chemicals or place it in an ultrasonic cleaner. (Guide: Caring for pearls . Last on- first off)
Second, rinse in lukewarm water and carefully dry with a soft towel. Gently polish silver with a soft jewelry polishing cloth to restore its shine.
For more significant oxidation, a silver dip intended specifically for fine jewelry can be used carefully according to the product instructions.
Gold does not oxidize like silver, but should be cleaned in the same way using lukewarm water and dishwashing liquid. To clean around diamonds, gently brush around the stones with a soft toothbrush, or use an ultrasonic cleaner. Afterwards, rinse in lukewarm water and carefully dry with a soft towel.
